The HDMX4048-46 MaxCube® container holds more preforms per bin, while offering a 14% increase in return efficiency

OCONOMOWOC, Wis. — June 6, 2019 — ORBIS® Corporation, an international leader in reusable packaging, launched the collapsible HDMX4048-46 MaxCube® container to optimize bulk beverage shipments. Transportation costs are rising,1 and this container is specially designed to maintain tare weight so more product can be shipped without weighing out a truck. Additionally, up to eight HDMX4048-46 MaxCube containers can be stacked when collapsed (with lids), resulting in a 14% increase in return efficiency.

The MaxCube series is part of the ORBIS BulkPak® product line of reusable bulk containers, designed for beverage and primary packaging applications. The HDMX4048-46 model offers food and beverage supply chains another bulk container option to improve inventory and shipping efficiency. Up to six containers can be stacked when filled for better warehouse utilization. Increased bin uptime is made possible with snap-in rodless panel hinges and replaceable foot cap wear plates that decrease time needed for bin repair.

“We understand the growing demands food and beverage supply chains are facing, so ORBIS strives to innovate reusable packaging that makes shipping and handling easier and more productive. Small feature adjustments, such as improved internal cubic space, easier reparability and ergonomics, go a long way throughout the supply chain,” said Micah Naasz, product manager at ORBIS. “The HDMX4048-46 MaxCube offers that innovation by delivering improved performance, easy reparability and increased return ratio while maintaining tare weight.”

Additional benefits of the HDMX4048-46 MaxCube container include:

  • Improved sidewall performance for a long service life
  • Spring-loaded latches for ergonomic handling
  • Foot cap wear plates for long performance in rugged environments
  • Optional 14-pound injection-molded top cap, adding another layer of protection from dust and debris

The HDMX4048-46 MaxCube series is a collapsible straight-wall container, offered in the industry standard 40 x 48 footprint, and holds up to 1,200 pounds and more than 40 cubic feet of product.
